PTO Updates: What you need to know!

3/5/2023 7:00 am

Thank you to everyone that attended the PTO meeting on Thursday March 2nd.

Superintendent Ken Saranich was able to join us and gave an update around the upcoming meetings that will be taking place regarding important next steps as it relates to the BOE Budget for the upcoming school year.

Families are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings to show support for the approval to fully fund the proposed budget from the BOE.  Details are below.

Wednesday April 5th at 5:30pm (Shelton City Hall Auditorium – 54 Hill Street)

Board of Aldermen & Tax Meeting

This meeting does not allow for public opinion

Mrs. Weber and the ESS PTO would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Yi Family, Aiden Yi is a student at ESS.

The family made a donation to ESS that allowed us to purchase 12 new replacement swings along with the supporting hardware for the older swing sets on the playground.   Our Father’s Club will be installing them when they arrive.

We truly thank the Yi Family for this generous contribution to help improve our playground!

Additional Updates from the Meeting:

  • Additional Playground Renovations – The City of Shelton is scheduled to address the playground during April break – they are going to be working on the drainage issues, back filling dirt and mulch areas should be taken care of.  The PTO is also researching designs and pricing to order cups for décor for the Kindergarten fence.

  • Jump Rope for Heart Week – We reached our goal and ESS raised over 15K for the American Heart Association. ESS Placed in the Top 10 for the State of CT!   Thank you Mr. Murphy for coordinating a great week!

  • Yearbook – Reminder the link below is live on the PTO site and in Mrs. Weber’s weekly newsletter to submit pictures. Yearbooks will go on sale soon, more details to follow.
